For fellow Venue Director Sarah Carman, the magic lies in how all of those elements come together. With unobstructed views of the Gulf, ample parking, and a fresh, open layout, the venue strikes a rare balance—grand in scale yet intimate in feel.
“We have all the details people usually have to piece together from one venue or another,” Carman said. “But we’re also not so big that we lose our personal touch.” That sense of balance extends behind the scenes as well. The Grand Sofia ensures both sides of the wedding party have room to relax, gather, and prepare comfortably. Carman points to the venue’s thoughtfully designed suites—particularly the Upper Suite created specifically for grooms and groomsmen - as a standout feature. Downstairs, the Grand Suite has a private entrance and exit - allowing brides and their parties to arrive early and get ready without ever crossing through the reception space.
Beyond weddings, Carman and Hansen both see the venue’s open floor plan as a natural fit for corporate events, showers, and celebrations of all kinds.

For Venue Director Shelby Hansen, adaptability was non- negotiable. From the outset, the goal was to create a space that could respond quickly to changing plans—without ever sacrificing style or scale. The venue offers in-house catering and can host up to 400 guests for a plated, sit-down dinner—dance floor included. Most importantly for couples, ceremonies planned for the beach can move indoors at a moment’s notice, ensuring the day stays on track regardless of the weather.
