LaKeshia Myers, a Milwaukee, Wiscon- sin resident and native was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly (House of Representatives). Myers is a 2006 gradu- ate of Alcorn.
PANDORA WHITE NAMED 2018-2019 GILMAN ALUM- NI AMBASSADOR
Pandora White, a Fayette, Mississippi native who earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2013 was selected as the 2018-2019 Gilman Alumni Ambassador. White is a former Gilman Scholarship re- cipient, which is awarded to undergradu- ates to help aid them during their studies abroad.

Brittany Noble Jones, Alcorn State Uni- versity 2009 alumna and former news anchor at WJTV Channel 12, has made the jump to a new platform in New York City. Jones is the newest digital contrib- utor for NBC Black, where she reports on news, sports, and entertainment stories.
DR. SHELBY WILKES ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE GEORGIA STATE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
Dr. Shelby Wilkes ‘74 was recently elect- ed president of the Georgia State Med- ical Association in Atlanta. Wilkes, who is one of the co-founders of the Atlanta Eye Consultants, serves as a vitreoretinal surgeon at the practice.

Dr. Tameka Winston, a 2001 alumna, is the interim associate vice president of Research and Institutional Advancement at Tennessee State University in Nash- ville. Her new duties include working with the vice president of Research and Institutional Advancement in carrying
out special projects and initiatives that further the growth and development of TSU.
