5 Minutes With... Maureen Wasloski
What, where, when was your first job in the gaming industry? My first job, in 1997, was in human resources at Casino Magic in Bossier City, Louisiana. Through the years, I have worked in all operational departments of the casino business.
What do you like best about your current job? Working with so many amazing team members who provide such great service to all our guests is rewarding. The excitement of being in the entertainment business, walking the casino and engaging with guests and team members is a new adventure every day and it is a lot of fun!
What is the best piece of business advice you ever received and from whom did you receive it? Push boundaries; be curious and courageous; make work fun. Run your own race
and be true to yourself. This was the advice of many leaders that I have had the pleasure of working alongside throughout my career.

Build relationships with key managers and believe you can do anything. You may start your career in one area
of the business and land in a totally different area. Once you commit to doing something, do it well.
How do you define “success”?
Success is being your best self. As a parent, grandparent, sibling or leading an organization, helping others achieve personal and team goals is important to me. Giving back to those you serve each day and feeling like you are making a difference to help others learn and grow.
What is something you do each day just for yourself? Read one positive quote or article every day. I also enjoy exercising, spending time with family and eating healthy.
What is it about the gaming industry that makes it a good industry? The last three years have certainly challenged
all of us in unexpected ways. The entire team demonstrated that we are all resilient and every day, we get the opportunity to be innovative, meet new guests and create fun and memorable experiences for people all over the world.
