CFO announced at Golden Nugget, three more promoted
BILOXI — Golden Nugget Biloxi announced the recent promotion of three employees. Additionally, John Steckelberg was named vice president and chief financial officer for the Biloxi property.
Steckelberg began his gaming career in casino finance as an internal auditor at an Iowa greyhound track. He has worked in several states, including Indiana, Louisiana and Mississippi. Originally from Nebraska, Steckelberg graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a degree in finance and an MBA.
Jody Miles was named director of security and surveillance operations, while Joel Walker was promoted to senior security shift manager and Matthew Lee was promoted to banquets manager.
Miles began his career at Golden Nugget in 2013 as senior surveillance director, as well as providing support and guidance to the Golden Nugget Lake Charles surveillance department. In his new role as director, he will
be responsible for overseeing the surveillance and security departments along with risk management and AV.
Miles started his career in the gaming industry in 1993 as a security officer, later holding positions in surveillance and security management, and he was also an investigator. Miles held security jobs at Hard Rock, IP Casino Resort Spa and Margaritaville Casino before coming to

Lee has more than 20 years of banquets experience, including meetings, weddings, parties, conventions, concerts and catering events. He began his gaming industry career working at Gulfport casinos in valet services before he joined Beau Rivage as an on-call banquet server. Shortly after joining
their banquet team, Lee was promoted to banquet captain where he remained for six years before coming to Golden Nugget.

Walker’s gaming industry career
started in November 2015 when he joined Golden Nugget as a grave shift security officer. In June 2016, he was promoted to day shift senior officer and was later promoted to day shift manager. In his new role as senior security shift manager, Walker is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of all three shifts and directly handling swing shift.

Harrah’s Gulf Coast has named Casey Biehl as director of food and beverage. Biehl gained his F&B knowledge through positions at some of New Orleans’ best-known venues, including The Metropolitan Nightclub, as well as opening Tipitina’s Big Room. Additionally, he was part of
the opening team for Caesars Palace Dubai where he successfully launched the grand opening of Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen, Zhen Wei, Havana Social Club and others.

Two Penn Gaming properties name new GMs
MISSISSIPPI — Penn National Gaming has named two new general managers for three of its Mississippi properties. Maureen Wasloski is now general manager at Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg and Matthew Heiskell is the new general manager at Hollywood Casino Tunica and 1st Jackpot, both in Tunica.
Wasloski comes to Ameristar after serving as GM at the two Tunica properties since 2019. She
