New ops director at Gold Strike Casino
TUNICA — Gold Strike Casino Resort has named Shane Robertson its new executive director of casino operations. Additionally, Angela Chambers was promoted to director of table games earlier this year.

Strike veteran, launched her career in the Tunica gaming industry in 1993. Since her beginnings as an assistant shift manager, Chambers has worked in a variety of roles within the department.

the casino resort.

New Marketing Manager
Boomtown Casino Biloxi has named Joan Caruso marketing manager. She has 34 years of marketing and advertising experience with the past 18 years spent directly in casino marketing and advertising. Previously, she worked at Grand Casino Gulfport, and several Louisiana properties, including L’Auberge Casino in Lake Charles, Boomtown Casino New Orleans and, for the past 12 years, Harrah’s New Orleans, where she was marketing director.

Golden Nugget
BILOXI — Golden Nugget announced the promotion of a manager and the hiring of a new restaurant manager at the Biloxi property.
Nate Sones was recently
promoted to a new role
as IT manager. He started
with Golden Nugget in July
2022 as an infrastructure
administrator and quickly
moved into this leadership
role after demonstrating his strong work ethic and ability to lead a team. He
has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management Information Systems from Liberty University and has more than 20 years of experience working in the IT field.
Additionally, Matthew
Geiken joined the property in
August as general manager
of Michael Patrick’s Sports
Bar and Grill. He brings 20-plus years of experience in the food and beverage industry to his position.

Mike Emery promoted at WaterView Casino
VICKSBURG — WaterView Casino & Hotel
in Vicksburg announced the promotion of Mike Emery to senior director of casino operations and player development.
With more than 30 years of experience in
the gaming industry, Emery has spent time in
numerous jurisdictions. He has worked in a
variety of roles in slots, table game operations,
sportsbook and player development, as well as
casino credit. A New Jersey native, Emery came
to Mississippi during the early days of the state’s
gaming industry playing an integral role in opening
five Grand Casino properties across the state while holding various leadership positions.
Emery most recently served as director of casino operation at WaterView. He came to the Vicksburg property in 2022 from its sister property, Fitz Casino & Hotel in Tunica.
