 D’IBERVILLE — Scarlet
Pearl Casino Resort
announced at the end
of August that all of its
associates have had at least
one shot of the COVID-19
vaccine, making it the first
casino in the country to
have a 100% vaccination
rate among all applicable
employees. The D’Iberville
property did this through a
concerted effort of one-on-
one communication, vaccine
education, and on-site
vaccinations for associates
and their families. More than $500,000 was invested for the vaccine effort, including $300 in cash to each associate and supervisor who completed the requirement to obtain a COVID-19 vaccination.
“Scarlet Pearl Casino is an industry leader as attested to by our guests, our associates, and our community,” said CEO LuAnn Pappas. “Caring is one of Scarlet Pearl’s core pillars. The health and wellbeing of the region is essential.”
Casinos throughout the state are encouraging employees to get vaccinated. Some are offering incentives, such as giving away thousands of dollars in

Prizes included pizza makers, bicycles and scooters, including the one won by Pamela Miller, security officer. Plus, fully vaccinated team members received thousands in Total Return credits, which are used at a special website for purchasing prizes and gift cards.
In Greenville, Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa working to ensure they are providing a
safe environment for employees and guests, sponsored
a $10,000 COVID vaccination incentive drawing for team members. The property partnered with Molina Health Care and Plan A Health Center assisting efforts in providing the community and Harlow’s employees with vaccinations.
Prizes in the giveaway ranged from $500 to $2,500. Thomas Gibson, director of gaming operations, received the top prize.
