View Casino Resorts sponsor Pink Dress Run
GULFPORT — The View Casino Resorts supported Carter’s Champions’ Pink Dress Run
in Gulfport. This annual event, co-sponsored by The View, raises money, promotes awareness and celebrates the survivors of breast cancer. Several View Casino Resort team members participated in the 5K, while some took a more serious approach by competing.
“This year’s attendance exceeded all previous years,” said John Carter, founder and chairman of Carter’s Champions. “Donations are still coming in and we expect to well surpass the amount raised last year.” Money raised in this event goes to Memorial Hospital Foundation to help local breast cancer patients.
Other events throughout the day included best dressed dude competition and best dressed pet contest. There was also food, drinks and live entertainment, as well as cancer survivors sharing their personal stories.
Activities All Month
Ameristar Casino Hotel held several Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, including employees wearing pink masks, ribbons, socks and T-shirts throughout
the month. The Vicksburg property also sponsored the water/carb tent for participants of the second annual Bea Willis Memorial Cancer 1K/5K Walk & Run on Oct. 9. Held in Tallulah, Louisiana, the event honors Willis, who was cage manager at Ameristar for many years before her death in 2020.
