About This Issue
Along with the (hopefully) cooler weather that
accompanies November in South Mississippi, this
month is a time of thankfulness and appreciation.
From our M2 Media family to yours, we hope this
season is full of time with your loved ones, good
food, and even better memories being made. Happy
Thanksgiving, y’all!
November also marks our Golden Years issue,
which focuses on the next chapter—the season of life
when you can finally slow down a little and do the
things you’ve been putting off for years, from travel
to time with friends and family. In this issue, you’ll
find stories highlighting everything from budget-
friendly day trips to what it means to age gracefully.
One of my favorites this month is an article on
snowbirds that stuck around and decided to make
this place home!
Also in this issue, there are eight pages of photos
from this year’s Renaissance the Runway, a fashion
event that brings the community together for more
than just style. South Mississippi Living is the proud
media partner of this inspiring fundraiser, which
provided an opportunity to award scholarships
to 10 children and present financial support to
organizations serving children with disabilities. I’m
sure you’ll see some familiar faces!
In our dining section, dynamic duo Carlin and
Christopher Duncan take on Coastal Kitchen
and the new Chandeleur Depot for this month’s
restaurant reviews. Also in this section, Chef Chelsea
Gieselmann shares three inventive ways to enjoy
bacon this season.
And as always, we’ve rounded out the issue with our
favorite staples—Coast Notes, Sports & Outdoors,
Home, Shopping, Healthy Living, and our Calendar
of Events. We hope you love this issue as much as we
