Brandy Westman
Nurse Practitioner Brandy Westman is an accomplished woman in different areas of her life. She has 20 years of nursing experience, served as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Navy, worked as a relief nurse in New York during COVID, and was the first female to be inducted into the Mississippi Karate Association Hall of Fame. Since 2021, she has owned Bella Aesthetics and Wellness in Ocean Springs.
“I’ve had the privilege of taking on various roles and responsibilities,” she says. “These diverse experiences have fueled my desire to enhance healthcare delivery. With the support and encouragement of my husband, Mike, I took a leap of faith and started my own aesthetic practice. I take pride in creating a welcoming environment for all, where no one feels rushed or pressured to make decisions about their
wants and needs.”
Working in New York as a COVID relief nurse made a
big impact on her. “The support and teamwork of the hospital staff in such dire times was absolutely incredible and inspiring,” she recalls. “In my practice what I like best is helping others find confidence in themselves.”
Westman counts serving the United States as a Navy officer
among her successes. Her advice to young female entrepreneurs
is to “do what you love, and don’t let anyone tell you it’s not possible. Most importantly, treat others with respect and kindness, and success will follow.”
When asked what people may not know about her she says, “I’m quite introverted and very nervous in front of crowds.” She enjoys all the shops and restaurants in downtown Ocean Springs, particularly Red Apple and Mosaic, but her favorite Coast restaurant is White Pillars in Biloxi.
She and her husband of 12 years, Mike Westman, have two fur babies, Leo and Dixie, and enjoy hobbies that include traveling, boating, riding motorcycles, cooking, and spending time with their amazing group of friends. She has studied martial arts for 30 years and is a 5th degree black belt in karate.
