Faith-based Agape Wealth was born out of adversity and in 15 years has grown into a successful financial services company that is a 100 percent woman-owned business. As young newly weds, Heidi Ardis and her husband were taken advantage of when they invested funds from a family inheritance.
“I was inspired to start my career because of that,” she recalls. “I left working on my masters degree to pursue being a financial advisor to prevent anyone else from going through what we had.”
Ardis loves having the ability to help people in an area that is scary and overwhelming. She is able to sit down and take a situation they feel is hard and make it simple. “This gives them peace of mind. It is an amazing feeling to see someone go from concerned about their retirement to relaxed and excited,” she said.
She feels her greatest successes have been her faith in God, her family, and her ability
to overcome in a business where 90 percent
of owners are men. “My biggest supporter is my husband. I could not have the success in my career and life without God and my family first.”
Overcoming obstacles is nothing new for Ardis who became disabled at the age of 14. “As a fully wheelchair-bound female to go into a field of work dominated by men, I have seen my fair share of obstacles. However, I believe the only obstacle we truly have is our own mind. Whether you think you can or you can’t, you are right,” she says.
The fact that Ardis has a really good memory and can remember thousands of songs by hearing them once or twice is something not many people know about her.
She and her family love to go to different local restaurants, boating and exploring anything the Coast has to offer.
