Emily Barnett, Sarah Benedict and Lacie Gollott are the creative stylists and owners who give clients special attention at The Hair Loft in Ocean Springs.
“My grandparents, Ethel and Red Barnett, were my inspiration,” says Barnett. “They were hard working business owners who made a name for themselves, and I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps and build a business of my own.”
Gollott says what she most enjoys about her work is building confidence in her clients by making them feel like their best version of themselves.
Benedict gives advice to young female entrepreneurs, “The advice I would give
is to never stop working towards your goals, no matter how out of reach they may seem.”
“My girls, Annalyse and Avery, are my motivation to be successful. Also, being able to make women feel more confident by enhancing their beauty in the salon,” says Britney Mannon.
And Ashli Yates says it’s important to support other woman-owned businesses because women are the most underestimated and under- appreciated force in business. “By supporting woman-owned businesses, we are investing in women’s economic empowerment and gender equality in commerce.”
