Born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Courtney Jacobs has always had a passion for people and making a positive difference in their lives. Jacobs has an amazing husband, also in the insurance industry, and two beautiful children.
Jacobs is involved in many organizations that help promote the beauty of the Gulf Coast and serve our community, including serving as past president of the Biloxi Kiwanis Club, active member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber, Biloxi Chamber vice chair of small business, vice president of general welfare for Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport, secretary for Like Minded Ladies Gulf Coast, and Coast Young Professionals member.
Jacobs’ passion for making a positive impact in people’s lives and making her community better led to her starting IDR in 2018. IDR brings a new culture of independent insurance agencies to the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Georgia, and offers auto, home, and business insurance.

The Gulf of Mexico Alliance works with 1,000 members from over 165 organizations including state and federal agencies, academia, business, and non-profits to address coastal issues such as community resilience, wildlife, fisheries, habitat and education. Led by the five Gulf states, the Alliance has a 18-year history of successfully enhancing the environmental and economic health of the Gulf of Mexico through increased regional collaboration.
