The infinity pool and hot tub are good for relaxing and are framed with a fire pit and fire bowls. “It's a great place for entertaining,” McIntyre says. “It was important to us to have outdoor kitchens on two levels. We've eaten out here every night except two since we moved in June.”
With all the latest in outdoor kitchen equipment, the areas are complete with comfortable seating. The seating area on the first level is especially colorful with bright turquoise cushions and an interesting table fashioned to mimic a gnarled cypress trunk.
The 3,700-square-foot home is a contemporary style with an exterior of brick and siding. A full-service elevator goes from the ground floor to the attic. The house was built to Dade County Florida category five hurricane standards. Landscaping and fencing are complete but phase two will secure the bulkhead and add a pier and boathouse.
“Talk about a custom crafted home, this is it. The builder, Mike Butler, did a great job, and we used lots of local people.” McIntyre said
Inside on the main level, there's a sleek sophistication in the wine room, living room and kitchen with a neutral color palette. The homeowners wanted lots of natural light and they got it across the back – all the better to enjoy the expansive view. There's also electric lighting with accented illumination such as the quartz island countertop that shows up well at night. There are some special family touches in the kitchen that include McIntyre's great grandmother's green glass punch bowl set and two plants grown from cuttings from his great, great grandmother.
He describes the chandeliers hanging at two levels in the stairwell as his “pride and joy.” The stunning light pieces are from Israel and made of soft-colored rectangles of glass.
Each bedroom has a bathroom, the largest of which has a luxurious wet area for shower and soaking tub. The black cabinetry is accented with unusual black sconces and overhead light.
McIntyre is owner of Powermark Properties and Blaize is a mortgage lender. They share their home with dear friend Jason Burgdorf, also a realtor and broker. Not to be overlooked are the pets, two French Bulldogs and a Boxer.
"In our 10 years of business, Belle Vue has certainly one of our most interesting builds. Don, Thad, and Jason had a unique vision, and we are honored to have been chosen to bring that to life for them. Clients like these three guys are what keep us going in a positive direction. This home is one for the books."
