Casey Schwingle and Lauranne Tomaszewski serve as the recruiting directors for over 50 Waffle House restaurants in the area. They oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of the management teams. The Waffle House culture is based on servant leadership, and they take pride in caring for and developing their associates and management teams to help each person reach and exceed their goals.
The billion-dollar, debt-free company seems to always be hiring, which is largely due to its “Homegrown Leadership” mentality, where every manager in operations begins their career as a single unit manager. The upper leadership is accessible and driven towards mentorship, ensuring strong leadership and career advancement.
Their favorite role is educating people with the opportunities that Waffle House has to offer. They refer to it as “the dream job that you have NEVER dreamed of!”
Waffle House has offered job security, career growth opportunity, and a fun work environment during a time and economy when so many are struggling.

Who or what inspired you to pursue your current career?
My mother is a career agent for Humana and my grandfather has owned an agency in Pascagoula for many years. It felt like the most natural career path. Working in this industry allows me to stay family focused, work with amazing people and stay involved in my community.
What I like best about what I do is:
I love meeting new clients and learning their stories and their background; taking the journey with a new business owner with a dream and navigating all the obstacles to finally opening doors to new business; or working with a single, middle-aged mom buying her very first home. I am so humbled and proud to be part of the process.
