Who or what inspired you to pursue your current career?
I’ve always felt really inspired by my parents’ work ethic in their businesses. I grew up seeing both my parents work hard, but also make time for family and friends.
Advice I would give to young female entrepreneurs:
I’ve always looked up to my mom and how she conducts herself in business. I think it’s vital to be surrounded by strong women who inspire you, whether they’re family, an inspiring friend or a mentor. Research is
so important to stay educated and relevant in all aspects of business. I would also recommend always thinking ahead to your next step and your next move.
It’s important to support other woman-owned businesses because:
We are all helping to shape the vision young girls have of themselves and their futures. Seeing successful women grow businesses and thrive in our communities shows our daughters, nieces, and all the women in our lives what can be accomplished.
What’s something interesting about you that not many people know?
I love to cook! But, I never make the same dish twice. I tend to read the recipe and then make the meal my own way. I also have a low-key obsession for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. It’s really a highlight for me that I look forward to attending each year.
What are your favorite things to do on the Coast? On weekends, my husband
and I take our daughter, Caroline, to explore the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We love to visit Lynn Meadows Discovery Center and we are also looking forward to the opening of the Mississippi Aquarium of Gulfport..
What moment from your life made the biggest impact on your career?
Taking over an existing business and building trust with clients was a pivotal moment for me. The hard work and dedication I poured into The Paper Moon was so well received and appreciated by clients and they, in turn, recommended me to their friends and family.
Getting married to Taylor and having our daughter has also really impacted my perspective on everything; it’s inspired me, pushed me to grow and helped me nd balance between my work and home life.
