Make sure you have a good desk,
an ergonomic chair, bright lighting, storage space, and the equipment you need. Consider the acoustics, giving yourself peace and quiet when you need it. In today’s Zoom world, don’t forget to think about what your colleagues will be seeing when you video chat. Don’t believe it when someone says they don’t notice! Of course they do.
Beyond the essentials, make your home o ce a place of inspiration
and calm. Add photographs of your children, your friends, or some the incredible places you have been or want to go. Have candles with your favorite scent on hand and splurge on a fun piece of art, a pretty chair, or a soft throw. And at the end of your day, whenever that is, leave the o ce!
Women comprise 48 percent of the
American workforce. That is a lot of ladies trying to do it all. Each of us has to nd the formula that works for us. Then it’s a matter of saying “yes” more often to the things that support our health and happiness and saying “no” to activities that don’t add to our lives in a meaningful way. It’s hard to do, but let’s all say it now: “No.” Well, maybe that one will come with a little more practice.
