What I like best about what I do is: I love being a part of
something that makes a difference in the lives of others. Producing
an amazing, quality product for families gives me great joy. Happy customers are my top priority!
Advice I would like to give young female entrepreneurs: Set your goals and expect setbacks along the way, but always keep going. Having a successful business
doesn’t happen overnight, but the reward in the end is so worth it.

What I like best about what I do is: I enjoy helping people
decide on the best coverages and lowest prices from multiple insurance companies based on their speci c needs. Insurance is very complicated and there is much misinformation being spread online, through commercials and through 1-800 numbers. Being able to meet face- to-face with an experienced local professional protects you more than trusting your fate to someone you don’t know.

Casey Schwingle serves as a regional recruiting director for Waf e House. In her short four and a
half years with the company, she has not only been promoted two times, starting as a human resource manager, but developed a true passion for the company and its culture.
While Waf e House is a corporate entity, it is
actually employee-owned and is in uenced today by the grandchildren of the original founders. “The idea that we are a family is something that runs deep in our company,” Schwingle said. “There is a strong push
for leadership development and career advancement, all backed by upper leadership that is accessible and driven towards mentorship.”
The billion-dollar, debt-free company seems to always be hiring, which is largely due to its ‘hire from within’ mentality. When employees are promoted, there must always be someone ready to take their place. Waf e House doesn’t post jobs online, which is why roles like Schwingle’s are so important. “We focus on personal recruiting,” she said. “We are looking for people with experience, but most importantly, people with solid people skills. After all, we are not in the food business, we are in the people business.”
And we just had to ask – how does she like her hashbrowns? Scattered, smothered and covered.
