The Race for the Cure is the largest series of race/walks in the world and promotes breast health awareness and raises funds for screening, treatment and support service in local communities. There are incentives for top fundraiser, largest team, best pinked up person and more. In last year’s Coast race, there were 286 participants.
“From the money we have raised in the past five years,
we have been able to grant out $161,000 to free screenings, medication assistance, treatment and support service,” Young said. “Seventy-five percent of the funds raised are used on the Coast to provide these services.”
