As a Nurse Practitioner, I
have seen the results of what
a drowning does to a family. I do not believe that anyone is drown proof. However, I believe there are many safety measures to help prevent drownings, starting with swim lessons.
At Lil Shrimps, we have
a mission to help prevent childhood drowning. We believe all children should learn how to swim without assistance of floatation devices. We also believe in quality over quantity, striving for excellence in our swimmers.
We cater each individual swim lesson to each child’s needs and personality. Over the past five summers we have taught multiple children along
the Gulf Coast self rescue skills, enabling them to have a chance in a true water emergency. We teach babies 6 months and older how to roll to their backs to float until help arrives, and
if they’re old enough, they are able to swim/float/swim.
We are pleased to announce
that beginning next year, we will be raising money to donate swim lessons to less fortunate families through our nonprofit, Swimming to Survive. Our goal is to reach more children than before.

One lesson I learned along the way: Be content with what you have for God said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.
