JOURNEY

of Grace, Trenchard
has overcome his
addictions and hopes
to inspire others in his
situation. “Never give
up. If you fall, get up.
If you fall again, get
up,” he said. “This
disease will reduce
anyone to their basic
core, where wrestling with your demons is the norm. It’s bigger than you or I, and you’ll need help to overcome it. The Home of Grace afforded me a safe place to lay
the foundation for the rest of my life. It’s where I learned I could overcome my disease and be of service to others.”
Through the program at the Home of Grace, recovery is divided into phases with each building upon the next and focusing on a specific goal. The success of the program has been overwhelming and is achieved through classroom work, individual and group counseling, work therapy, community living and devotion. The Home of Grace recovery program emphasizes refining spiritual disciplines that will help to create a lasting effect
on the lives of its participants. “Todd’s story is pretty unique,”
said Josh Barton, executive director of the Home of Grace. “Before coming here, he had
been to countless other treatment centers, and his family’s means gave him access to a lot of things. Not many people can survive that, but he weathered the storm.”
According to Barton, what
sets the program at the Home
of Grace apart from other rehab centers is its foundational component. “We are a Christ- centered program,” said Barton. “Our counseling covers all the basic functions you’d expect
of a recovery program, but the biblical viewpoint that we utilize focuses on helping people find their purpose in life. If they can find that purpose, sobriety will follow.”
