contribute to community causes,” she added. Kelly makes a special point to use his success to help others in the community. Through his salon, he has been able to assist in raising funds
for many relief efforts both here on the Coast and in surrounding areas. Most recently, Chuck Kelly Salon has turned its attention to the flooding in Louisiana.
Within the walls of his salon, Kelly invests much of his time and effort into his staff and has been a great mentor
to many of his stylists. In recruiting new stylists, Kelly has the ability to see if someone has the drive to do what
it takes to succeed in the industry.
He offers an aggressive training program and takes a special interest
in helping them master their art. His
team describes Kelly as “a rare find
in the industry” as he is sympathetic to their needs both professionally and personally. The Chuck Kelly team has so much appreciation for Kelly for his investments in them, which include benefits, paid vacation, and continuing education alongside his mentorship. Kelly is celebrated not only by his employees, but by clients and national leading industry professionals who praise his attention to detail and his dedication to developing his team.
When asked why he thinks he’s remained viable in a competitive industry, Kelly said, “I’ve always demanded the best from myself. We’re selling experiences, not just haircuts and color. Years ago, a happy guest told one to three people and an
unhappy guest told eight to 10. Today with social media, unhappy guests tell hundreds of people. We must ensure that our guests have great experiences. I’m a firm believer in giving each client my undivided attention.” At times Kelly was urged to move to bigger cities but chose to remain in
his hometown. “I can’t articulate how gratifying it is to celebrate 30 years
in business here,” he said. “I’ve been seeing some clients over 30 years and I’m very appreciative of their support.”
The Salon stocks only top-quality health and beauty products and offers gift certi cates. It also provides special occasion services for weddings, proms and other special events, as well as:
