What makes a

When you hear the word hero, you probably have a variety of reactions. Maybe it makes you think of a person in your life, like a parent or a friend. Perhaps it makes you think of a song. It could even it make you think of a ctional character.
As adults, we have more ideas and opinions to go through when answering “What is a hero?” but children will only have their gut reaction. So, we decided to ask some kids from across the Gulf Coast about heroes! Here’s what they had to say:

Who is a hero in your life?
Super mommy and daddy because they protect me.
What is an example of a hero? Saving the day,
defeat the bad guys... but doctors are heroes too.
They help save people when they are sick.

What is a hero?
A hero is a somebody that saves you from a danger or they save you from getting in trouble or they save you from emergencies or they take care of others.
