Companies are made up of people from different ages and backgrounds, but it’s that variety that makes them strong. For many businesses across the Coast, rising young leaders are especially important because they will one day be decision makers within the community. J.R. Robinson of Mississippi Power, S.K. Vaughn of
Beau Rivage Resort & Casino and Tiffany Murdock of Singing River Health System are just a few of South Mississippi’s many rising stars.
S.K. VAUGHN
S.K. Vaughn, 24, works as campaign manager of database marketing at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. Vaughn graduated with a degree in public relations from the University of Southern Mississippi and accepted an internship in public relations and marketing at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.
“Before my first position at the Beau Rivage, I had no prior knowledge or understanding of the gaming industry,” Vaughn said. “Once I participated in the internship, I immediately knew I wanted to seek a full time position with MGM
Resorts International.”
Following her internship, Vaughn applied for MGM’s Management Associate
Program (MAP) and was selected out of more than 1,000 applicants. Along with her position as campaign manager, Vaughn is also chair of the Beau Rivage’s Emerging
Leaders Network Group, which provides development and networking opportunities for employees.
For those looking to grow in their career, Vaughn says, “Get involved in different organizations that push you out of your comfort zone and be hungry to learn. Seek opportunity in every challenge and honor your commitments.”
