ave you ever visited another city and seen stylized sculptures scattered
around at local businesses? Hattiesburg is known for
its swans, and Mobile for its oyster shells, but Biloxi has a
symbol all its own.
The Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce Lighthouse Project aims to distribute as many lighthouse sculptures across the city as possible.
The seven-foot-tall fiberglass lighthouses are truly the embodiment of Biloxi
and offer participating businesses
the opportunity to customize their lighthouse to fit their individual preferences. The lighthouses can be painted to feature business information and serve as a great way to help customers find a location.
Each lighthouse costs $1,500 and the Biloxi Bay Area Chamber of Commerce hopes to be able to use proceeds from purchased sculptures to give back to the community. So far 14 lighthouses have been sold with 12 out and about, ready for viewing. To see one in person, check out the lighthouses at Bay Breeze Event Center, the lobby
at BancorpSouth on Howard Avenue in Biloxi and the entrance of the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
