MOSS POINT
Q1. I ran for mayor because I felt that our great city had the opportunity for change and would see a return on my investment in working hard, being accountable and operating transparently. We are fortunate to have a community with supportive citizens who want to see the city prosper. I intend to be a mayor that people can rally with to ensure progress for our city.
Q2. I come from a corporate environment in the production industry, one that is rich in a model of team work. I have seen the benefits of such a model in that field and truly think it translates into virtually any field of work. I firmly believe we must work together as a team to accomplish anything ... and that team is comprised of the Mayor, the City Council, our hardworking public servants, our neighboring and state level government colleagues, our citizens and businesses.
Q3. I envision Bay Saint Louis becoming an attractive place to live, work, do business, play and pray. We will be the hometown choice for those looking to start a family, retire or develop their business.
Q4. Our economy is driven by a few very important factors, including tourism, business development and residential development. I think we have to have the 10,000-foot view in our strategic planning and truly strategize to make our city a standout community.
We must continue to invest in our public education system to ensure that we can attract new residents and support businesses.
Q1. I believe that true service means you have skin in the game and I have played all of the key roles. I have fund raised, worked, been a student, and voted in Moss Point. My capacity and interest in my community needed to reach beyond typical involvement. I needed to demonstrate my worth and ability to build leaders and shift the culture. Running for mayor was my opportunity to do just that. I ran for mayor because it was a calling that God placed upon my heart.
Q2. In the past I have been an employee of Students First, a company founded by Michelle Rhee-Johnson.
I was a grassroots lobbyist who fought for education across the country. In addition, I worked for Mayor Kevin Johnson of Sacramento as we toured the country with African American Leaders with the mission
to Stand Up for Great Schools. I also worked as the Corporate Program Design 7 Analytics Manager for Baylor Scott & White Health System.
Q3. My mission includes building a sustainable
Moss Point through progressive leadership, fiscal transparency, and public safety while enhancing quality of life through equity, economic growth, and diversity. Moss Point has convenient access for economic growth. We provide a clean natural environment, varied sources of recreation, excellent services, and reasonable taxes. Q4. The waterfront, access to interstate, air transit, railroad, and being a central node for multiple
modes of transportation are some of Moss Point’s greatest assets. In addition, we have such an amazing opportunity to develop the human capital through the avenues previously mentioned.
