With the ever changing world of golf equipment, we are seeing that more and more people can’t hit the 3 wood high enough to be effective. This is particularly true for moderate-to-slower swing speeds. I cannot tell you how often we see someone hit a 5-wood farther than a 3-wood.
The same holds true for lower lofted hybrids. Unless you have enough speed to get them high enough, they are a waste. I highly suggest trying higher lofts for the fairway woods and hybrids. I think if you give 5, 7, and 9-woods a chance, you will find them to be way more effective.
