FRIDAY NIGHT
Start things off slow with a relaxed meal on the river
at Lil’ Boys Restaurant at the Mary Walker Marina in Gautier. Tucked away off the Pascagoula River, Lil’ Boys
is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long
week. The Bottom Feeder Fries, piled high with pulled pork, nacho cheese, ranch dressing and jalapeños are a customer favorite, as is the Back Bayou Gumbo. Feel the warm breeze roll in while watching the sunset with a house Bayou Boomerang Bushwacker. It’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend of food fun!
SATURDAY MORNING
Rise and shine and grab a fresh cup of coffee at The District Coffee Company in Ocean Springs. This place has so much to offer from coffee to matcha to specialty cocktails, not to mention great food. Keep it Southern with a Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit and cool it off with a cold, frozen frappe. The new addition of the The District’s commercial window makes getting your food and drinks to go a breeze.
SATURDAY LUNCH
Want lunch with a view? How about the best view? Stop by and enjoy lunch overlooking the Mississippi Sound at The Reef, Biloxi. Great burgers, seafood, salads, and sandwiches are in total abundance at this centrally-located destination. Swamp Bread is a great appetizer to share, featuring sweet cornbread served atop the house Creole Crawfish Monica sauce. The Wicked Tacos, Mac Daddy Roni and the Reef Flounder Sandwich are just a few of the great lunch options you’ll find. Be sure to check out the Sky Bar on the top floor and unwind with a Blue Dream or Frozen Watermelon Sour for the finishing touch on a great afternoon.
SATURDAY DINNER AND DRINKS
Ready to be transported to a tiny paradise without having to leave the Coast? The newest back patio addition to the Biloxi Social House is the perfect backdrop for a night out with friends or an easy dinner with family. Live music is ever present in this hidden oasis and provides the perfect backdrop for some of Boho’s latest culinary creations. Chef Rob Henshaw is curating some of the most amazing charcuterie boards you’ve ever seen, and the Lemon Basil Tiramisu is on a level all its own.
SUNDAY BRUNCH
Had enough yet? Of course not. It’s Sunday and no foodie staycation would be complete without a delicious brunch. Head over to Old Town Bay St. Louis to one of the best brunch spots on the Coast, The Mockingbird Café. This place is a true gem, serving up some of the most amazing culinary delights that you’ll find. The Breakfast Scramble is a personal favorite, featuring eggs, bacon, sausage, spinach, avocado, and cheddar and topped with sriracha sour cream. The Brunch Fries topped with
a fried egg and house sausage gravy is another great early morning choice. And of course, no brunch would be complete without a House Bloody Mary, or my choice, the Belfast Breakfast which blends house cold brew, Jameson, and Irish Crème with ice and is then topped with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.
Are you full yet? These are just a few of my favorite selections, but the Gulf Coast has so many deliciously amazing choices for that perfect summer staycation. There’s plenty of time, so be sure to try as many as you can!
