Let’s face it. It’s July in South Mississippi. Which means it’ss hot. Like, crazy hot. Surface of the sun hot. It’s an inescapable heat that pours in and washes over you day after day leaving you parched and thirsting for something – anything – to help cool you down. While multiple avenues exist,
if one of your immediate remedies isn’t a deliciously cold and sticky sno cone, then honestly you’ve been living life all wrong.
What is it that is so magical about the marriage of frozen ice and flavored syrup? It’s a nostalgic treat that anyone can embrace. At its core, its main element is basic: ice. But let’s be honest, sno cones are so much more. Long gone are the days of simple sno cones. Sure, they exist and should be enjoyed as much as possible.
I’m a basic green apple kind of gal. But it’s 2023 and bigger is better, and those in the food industry are always thinking of ways to evolve simple treats into something truly spectacular. Enter Timothy Bolling, founder and owner of Bo’s Sno Cones and
Snacks, Biloxi.
Bo’s Sno Cones are no joke. Bolling
opened his stand in a small building in Biloxi in 2020 and has been experimenting with fun ingredients and big flavors to cre- ate some impressive iced delights. You can choose from a variety of your standard sno cone flavors but take them to the next level with combinations such as adding straw- berry cheesecake or your choice of your favorite childhood candies. The Waffle Nachos are a big hit showcasing ice cream alongside delicious caramel Stroopwafels. Bolling has perfected Kool-Aid Cotton Candy strawberries and even pickles, both customer favorites.
