The Sicilian II
1670 Pass Rod., Biloxi | Tues.-Fri., 11a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.; Saturday, 5-8 p.m. Facebook @biloxipizza
For full disclosure, Italian food is one of my all-time favorites, and, as such, I was adamant that I would show no bias when it came time to review The Sicilian II. However, after just a few small bites of some of the best lasagna that I’ve ever had, I knew I was hooked.
Owner Chris Drake, II, is a true master in the kitchen with a delectable assortment of Italian fare that will have you shouting, “Mangia” from the rooftops. Drake’s Sicilian great- great-great-grandmother passed down a plethora of recipes that have been family secrets since their inception. Favorites such as authentic Italian pizza, Shrimp Alfonso, Drake’s own take on Alfredo, and (yes, again!) the lasagna are just a few of the delicious creations served at The Sicilian II.
Drake is honored to serve his made-to-order meals to the local military. He recognizes that for many of his customers, this is their first time away from home, making it even more important that The Sicilian II is a friendly and welcoming environment. Drake is grateful for those that choose to eat at his restaurant by proudly offering a 10 percent military discount.
Did I mention the LASAGNA???
Burger Burger
1039 E. Howard Ave., Biloxi
Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Sat., 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Closed Sun. Facebook @theburgerburgerbiloxi | 228.432.5183
If you are looking for a burger of epic proportions, look no further than Burger Burger. A Biloxi favorite since 1947, Burger Burger is home to the one of the most amazing hamburger poboys you will ever find. Along with an array of several other deliciously prepared, home-cooked meals, Owner Martha Ebberman has been serving the Burger Burger to men and women in uniform for as long as she can remember.
Ebberman recognizes that the local bases are a vital part of our Coast economy, and she feels it is important for those visiting the bases to feel appreciated for their service as
they give up so much to do what they do. She is humbled that the military choose her restaurant as a go-to spot for a good meal and proudly offers a tea or soft drink at no extra charge.
Sometimes people just want a good burger, and a good burger they will definitely get. An 18-inch French bread loaf is topped with marinated hamburger patties grilled to perfection. Blended mustard, raw onions, and the house-secret special sauce make the Burger Burger more of an experience than just a sandwich. For an extra challenge, order a side of house-battered onion rings to complete the meal.
There is no shortage of amazing local restaurants that enthusiastically offer discounts to our men and women in uniform, and part of our Coastal charm is our dedication to showing our guests a great time. To all our military friends, whether you are visiting for a few months, are stationed here temporarily with your family, or perhaps you’ve decided to call the Mississippi Gulf Coast your new home, we are truly grateful for your service! We hope to show our appreciation
in a variety of ways, but the very least we can do is serve you a delicious meal.
