Coast restaurant owner Rob Stinson is spicing things up! After 10 years of cooking up healthy meals on his Fit to Eat show on the Mississippi Public Broadcasting Network, his show is heading to the Create Network.
“It is exciting to now have something positive to showcase Mississippi,” said Stinson, who operates Gulf Coast Restaurants. “The state gets a lot of negative publicity nationally, now we have something positive. It’s challenging and exciting to keep it new and fresh. Every single dish I try to make is visually appealing as well as healthy to any person.”
Stinson is inspired to help others eat healthy and recognize healthy foods. He also wants to let his audience know that healthy food
doesn’t have to be plain. It can be flavorful and exciting. He credits Dr. Rick Deshazo for being a huge asset to his healthy lifestyle.
“Dr. Deshazo was on my show before,” Stinson recalled. “I had an accident on vacation where I fractured my spine. My doctors told me I had to lose weight, but no matter what I did,
I couldn’t lose the weight. After being on my show, Dr. Deshazo had me walk him through a day of what I ate. I never ate breakfast until he told me that was my problem. I was eating too late and not eating a healthy breakfast. Once
I changed that, I started losing weight,” said Stinson.
The first season of Fit to Eat on the Create Network is set to begin in August.
