PEOPLE
  Family, Community, Perseverance
Since opening in 1983, Dad’s Super Pawn has become a recognizable landmark in the greater Gulfport area. The founders, Jack W. Riley and Violet B. Riley, strive
to instill the importance of a good work ethic, proper moral compass, and
community support into their family. These core values are what led Dad’s
Super Pawn to become a community leader on the Coast in the fight against COVID-19.
At the start of the pandemic, owner Kevin Riley and the Dad’s family started the logistical planning to not only survive COVID, but to be there for the community in the troubled times ahead. Dad’s Super Pawn set an example when it came to business operation procedures during the pandemic.
In addition to setting up an outdoor station for conducting business, there were constant wipe downs with their “COVID Potion #9” cleaning solution, zero tolerance mask utilization, and use of gloves. In addition, a COVID disinfectant team was hired to come in and treat the entire property two times per week. Most of these procedures were put into place well before the standard was set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or state representatives.
