Happy July, South Mississippi! This year more than ever, we wanted to to take the time to express our thanks and gratitude to those who serve our community on a daily basis.
In our South Mississippi Heroes special section, you’ll meet some of our community heroes. From members of our local military bases to firemen, police officers, and emergency medical professionals, this section is all about appreciating the sacrifices these brave men and women make every day. Learn about the 53th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, better known as the Hurricane Hunters, “ride along” with some local EMTs, and read all about D’Iberville’s state-of- the-art first responder facilities, featured on this month’s cover.
We are honored to have Felice Kelly Gillum, executive director of USO Gulf Coast, write The Final Say for this special issue. This amazing organization provides quality programs to service members and their families to lift their spirits during their call of duty. Collectively, USO Gulf Coast serves over 100,000 service members annually.
