The fourteenth annual Martini Shakedown on July 14 is a can’t-miss event that will have everyone rockin’ as they sip fabulous martinis and are entertained with live music — all while helping make children’s wishes come true. Martini Shakedown takes place at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino from 7 to 11 p.m.
“This is something everyone looks forward to that will have them movin’ as they enjoy martinis, great food and the music of Category 6, the New Orleans-based band that puts on an awesome stage show featuring black lights, neon glow and all the songs you know while helping our mission make children’s wishes come true
for our Mississippi kids,” said Shellie Moses, South Mississippi director of Make-A-Wish Mississippi.
Enjoy mouthwatering food prepared by the chefs from the Beau Rivage and get ready to shop through mobile bidding at this year’s silent auction that will have great vacation getaway packages, unique one-of-a-kind items, amazing jewelry and celebrity gift packages.
Make-A-Wish Mississippi is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children suffering from life- threatening medical conditions.
Advance tickets are $75 per person and $100 at the door. A limited number of corporate sponsorships are available.

story by Kelsey Sunderman-Foster TNT Ranch Recovery Home will
host a walkathon on July 14 at Milner Stadium in Gulfport. The walkathon begins at 9 a.m., with registration starting at 8 a.m., and will feature music, food and vendors. The first 100 registered walkers will receive a free T-shirt.
“Our organization is a residential facility for those with mental disabilities and those who
suffer from substance abuse and homelessness,” said house manager and fundraiser coordinator Gary
Seymour. “We aim to change lives
by leading the way for people to overcome their struggles and helping them to become productive citizens.”
The ranch was opened in the spring of 1993 by retired veteran Henry “Tony” Stapleton. Veterans are near and dear to the heart of the TNT Ranch staff, and money raised from the walkathon will directly benefit retired military members. The walkathon theme is Red, White, Blue and You.
There is no registration fee, but
attendees are asked to pledge $5. Multiple pledges are accepted, and for every five pledges walkers will be entered into a raffle for items from local businesses. TNT Ranch is accepting donations and offering vendors booths at the event for $75 for businesses and $45 for non- profits.
