For 18 years the Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi and Ocean Springs has hosted a gala to raise funds for their many community projects. This year’s gala, with The Secret Garden as the theme, will be held June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.
Member PageAnn Stephens lists the organization’s projects that help the community in various ways. “We work
with local children to make their lives better,” she said.
Among those projects are Bridge the Gap which serves emotional needs of children by providing inclusive activities that appreciate their differences, boost their confidence, and provide a sense of belonging within their community.
“Community Connection focuses
on partnerships with other schools, nonprofits and governmental agencies. Crown Club is an organization of
high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the area. Fit 4 Life addresses the mental and physical well-being of children in our service area,” Stephens said.
Other projects include Homecoming & Prom Closet; I Matter, a National Service project; Kids in Court Kare (KICKS) to serve the children of Jackson County CASA; Life After High School; School Aid; and Tomorrow’s Promises.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Hancock Chamber of Commerce, Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Jackson County Chamber of Commerce announces recipients of the 2024 One Coast Awards.
“As in the past, I’m just blown away by the number and caliber of nominees,” said Gulf Coast Chamber CEO Adele Lyons. “It’s impressive to see the people who give their time and energy to the community beyond their work schedule.”
