The charcuterie movement has taken the culinary world by storm, and I’ve been here for it every step of the way. A platter full of delicious meats, cheeses, olives and fruits? Yes, please. Sign me up anytime. That’s why I was so glad to learn that Gourmet Gabby, a local catering company famous for their opulent charcuterie setups and incredibly scrumptious offerings, was opening a storefront in Ocean Springs.
Owners Kevin and Chantal Gollott and their daughter, Gabby Gollott Mohler, have been designing and curating the most epic of charcuterie displays for several years.
As demand has grown, it only made sense for them to expand into their very own storefront and I can tell you, we are all better off having the chance to sample their amazing fare.
Gourmet Gabby’s grab-n-go cooler is stocked each morning with an amazing selection of mixed protein salads, pasta salads, sandwiches and charcuterie boxes, each hand made using the freshest of ingredients. If you love this style of food as much as I do, it’s definitely difficult to choose just one. Or two. Pint and quart
portions are available in most all of the salad options, which is great because then you can just get them all.
The Greek Spaghetti is my personal favorite, featuring spaghetti pasta tossed in a light, parmesan pesto with tomato, olives, purple onions, and feta. Another favorite is the Italian Pasta Salad. Channeling all the best elements of a muffuletta, the Italian Pasta Salad mixes bowtie pasta, cheese, olives, and ham, all tossed in a light Italian dressing. I also recommend the Orzo Pasta Salad, featuring tender orzo pasta, toma- toes, feta, and spinach in a light olive oil drizzle. So, basically, all of these are my personal favorites and I am absolutely okay with that.
Lighter salads that double as a nice side dish are also at the top of the list. Broccoli Raisin Slaw with shredded broccoli, slaw, and raisins tossed in a house sweet dress- ing is about the best gussied up that I’ve ever seen broccoli. The Sweet Pea Salad and Cowboy Caviar are two other perfect choices that go with just about anything. But one of the best is the Mediterranean hummus, which shows off just the right
