Since I graduated dental school
21 years ago, dental technology has progressed exponentially. At Timmons Family and Cosmetic Dentistry we are passionate about being leaders in the dental industry and providing the most modern dental technology available in the world today. This allows for more productivity, efficiency, and an improved patient experience.
Intraoral Scanners allow us to say goodbye to the uncomfortable, gag- inducing physical mold impressions, which are less accurate and require multiple visits. With this handheld device, we can rapidly scan your mouth to create a perfect 3D model that can
be used to create high-quality, same day crowns and veneers, bridges, dentures, implant guides and even orthodontic aligners. This skips the back and forth visits and provides high-precision accuracy. Thanks to CAD/CAM digitalization, dental treatment processes that used to take weeks to complete can now be done in hours.
CAD/CAM dentistry allows us to rapidly design and fabricate crowns and veneers in a single two-hour visit. Digital impressions are taken, crowns are designed and sent to milling machines, fired in ceramic ovens, then cemented all in under two hours. No gooey impressions, no temporaries, and no second visit to cement your crown when it returns from a lab. Highly aesthetic,
same day multiple crown/veneer smile makeovers are routinely performed in our office.
Digital X-rays quickly render images on a computer screen within seconds while reducing radiation exposure by 90 percent, improving detail and image quality thus improving diagnostic capability.
Cone Beam CT 3D X-Ray technology: you can’t treat what you can’t see. 3D digital imaging technology allow dentists to see more of the patient’s anatomy to better diagnose and treat. We can now superimpose 3D digital models of your mouth into 3D X-Rays and literally design where to place implants more safely and accurately. We then use a
3D printer to print out surgical guides to place these implants in the mouth precisely where we designed them in the software.
Digital Orthodontics: using 3D scanners, clear aligners such as Invisalign have made orthodontic treatment less conspicuous, slashed treatment time to under a year typically, tossing wires out the window in most cases.
