Seven Million Dollars and Counting
Elliott Homes Builds Another St. Jude Dream Home
story by Cherie Ward photos courtesy of Elliott Homes
Ten years ago, Brandon Elliott set a goal for himself and his team at Elliott Homes to help the Gulf Coast raise $1 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in a single year.
And now, 2023 has become that year after Elliott Homes built its eighth St. Jude Dream Home and helped raise $1 million toward eradicating childhood cancer. It’s the first Mississippi Coast Dream Home to net $1 million in a single annual campaign.
Elliott, president and founder of Elliott Homes in Gulfport, was first approached by St. Jude in 2012 to build a home for the charity’s annual fundraising campaign. After he and his 53-member team built their first home, they were ready to build even more houses. So far, Elliott Homes has built eight Dream Homes at no cost to St. Jude and raised more than $7 million for cancer research.
And the former Mississippi Seawolves hockey player said they have no plans to stop building St. Jude Dream Homes.
“And I’m not interested in just building a home,” Elliott said. “It’s more about building a community.”
