Dr. Jason Smith is a board-certified otolaryngologist and has been practicing surgery of the ear, nose and throat in Gulfport for 40 years, and recently limited his specialty to ears and facial skin cancers. He has a special interest in medical and surgical conditions of the ear, including hearing restoration and implantable hearing devices. He
is supported by a full-time doctoral level audiological staff capable
of state-of-the-art testing and vestibular rehabilitation. Additionally, pediatric ear and hearing evaluations and surgery are a large part of Dr. Smith’s practice. He also receives referrals from local dermatologist for surgical removal of facial skin cancers.

What many people doen’t realize is the audiologists at Coastal Hearing Center do much more than just sell hearing aids. They offer services to diagnose specific types of hearing loss to see if it can be treated by a physician first. They also diagnose and treat patients with positional vertigo or tinnitus.
“We also offer various types of hearing protection for industrial workers, hunters, and musicians,” says Slater. “If the only option to restore better hearing is a hearing aid, we then fit appropriately and provide continued care throughout the life of the hearing aid to assure optimal benefit.”
