What is the best advice you’ve received?
Wellness goes way beyond just getting out of pain – that’s the easy part. Maintaining function, movement, and nutrition for our bodies is what keeps us out of pain.
In your opinion, what is the public’s biggest misconception about your field?
That we are just back pain doctors. We also treat and co-manage a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions of all age groups.
What does practicing medicine mean to you?
The ability to help patients get back their lives and doing the things they love to do by getting them moving better.
Have you had an interesting or unusual case you can tell us about?
An infant was referred to us by dentist with Tongue-tie, which is when a tight band of tissue tethers the tongue’s tip to the floor of the mouth and can interfere with feeding and eventually speech.
