GRAFTON TEETS, D.D.S.
Q:Number of years you’ve practiced:
A:More than 30. I’ve been in practice in Biloxi for almost 19 years. Prior to this, I served as a dentist with the United States
Army (13 years active duty and 7 years as a reservist) stateside and in Germany.
Q:What does practicing medicine mean to you?
A:Practicing dentistry affords me the opportunity to relieve pain,
restore smiles, and improve
patients’ quality of life on a daily
basis. I love what I do, and I’m
humbled by the trust my patients
Q:What is the biggest health issue you see in South Mississippi?
I’m concerned that many A:patients receive no preventive
care (check-ups, cleanings and x-rays). When dentists can’t diagnose problems early, it can result in pain and emergency procedures such as extractions that could have been prevented.
Q:What is the most unusual case you’ve ever had?
A:A patient arrived with a broken front tooth. The unusual thing
was that she admitted to opening the twist-off cap on a bottle of beer with her teeth. We all agreed that it was a birthday she’d always remember!
