Dr. Edward Dvorak is a board certified general surgeon with specialty training in minimally invasive techniques for hernia repair. Dr Dvorak attended medical
school at the University of Tennessee,
and completed his internship at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, followed by four years of service as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force. Following his service to his country, he completed his general surgery residency
at the University of Mississippi Medical
Center. He has over twelve years of
experience practicing in Jackson County
and has performed thousands of hernia
repairs. He is a member of the American Hernia Society. Dr. Dvorak joined SMS in 2003.
JASON PAYNE, M.D.

Dr. Payne is a Board Certified
General Surgeon with
specialized training in robotic,
minimally invasive, and bariatric
surgery. He is a graduate of
Millsaps College and completed
medical school at the University
of Mississippi Medical Center in
Jackson, Mississippi. He joined
South Mississippi Surgeons in
July of 2011 after completing his
residency. Dr. Payne is a Fellow
of the American College of
Surgeons, the American Medical
Association, the Mississippi State
Medical Association, and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

completing this he did
his vascular fellowship
also at UT Memphis. He has been in
private practice for more than 18 years. He has interest all aspects of general surgery including breast, GI, thoracic, endocrine, and hepatobiliary, in addition has significant experience with the daVinci robot. His vascular training allows him to treat all types of vascular problems both endovascularly (minimally invasive ) and open.

Simpler is a board

surgeon with

in complex
incisional hernia
repair. Dr. Simpler
attended medical
school at The
University of South
Alabama School
of Medicine
in Mobile, AL and his residency at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, AL. He
is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Hernia Society and the Laparoendoscopic surgeons. Dr. Simpler also has vast training and experience in Wound Care, and provides services at Singing River Hospital Wound Care Center. He joined SMS in August of 2010.
GENERAL SURGERY
Dr. Fayard earned his Bachelor of Science degree
in biological sciences from Loyola University, Louisiana, in 2003.
In 2007,
he received
his medical
degree from the
Louisiana State
University in New Orleans, LA. While completing his general surgery internship and residency at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS, he practiced as Chief Administrative Resident for two years. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Fayard joined South Mississippi Surgeons, PA in 2012. Dr. Fayard is currently a member of both American Medical Association and American College of Surgeons. Dr. Fayard resides in Ocean Springs Mississippi. He is currently seeing patients in the SMS Biloxi and Ocean Springs offices and practices general surgery at Merit Health Biloxi and Singing River Hospital of Ocean Springs.
