recognizing good work

Being a hospital patient is never easy, but the care you receive can make a difference.
From doctors and nurses to volunteers and other staff members, care providers can make a hospital stay easier through their compassion and kindness.
The Memorial Hospital Foundation created the Guardian Angel Program to recognize the important roles these healthcare providers play in the lives of their patients. If you or a loved one received special care, you can give back to your Guardian Angel with a recognition of their good works. The program began in 2007 and receives about 60-65 nominations per year.
“A Memorial patient gives a donation of their choosing to the Foundation in honor of a doctor, nurse or other care provider and includes a note explaining why that person is their Guardian Angel,” said
Kathryn Moran, donor
marketing specialist
at Memorial Hospital Foundation. “Once we receive that nomination,
we surprise the Guardian Angel at their office with a pin and the note of thanks. It means a lot to our Guardian Angels because they don’t always get a thank you for all the hard work that they do.”
“Being named a Guardian Angel was one of the most humbling moments of my life, said Brittani Williams, RN, Obstetrics. “It is extremely moving for a patient to recognize you for doing the job that you love.”
Not only can individuals nominate Guardian Angels of their own, but they can nominate those who have cared for their loved ones. You can recognize your Guardian Angel online or by mail.
