Scarlet’s Steaks & Seafood Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort
Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort is home to the one-of-a-kind Scarlet’s Steaks & Seafood. Not only does the beautiful restaurant feature elegant decor and elevated service, but the food is some of the best on the Gulf Coast and dinner includes an amuse bouche before the meal and an intermezzo of limoncello sorbet and champagne.
Led by Chef Jackson Reichel, Scarlet’s is known for its USDA prime steaks and its fresh seafood, much of it locally sourced. Reichel, who grew up on the Gulf Coast and has honed his craft through the years, has worked for a number of local chefs, all tops in their fields. He makes sure the quality in all the products used at the restaurant is the freshest.
Additionally, just about everything offered at Scarlet’s is made in- house. “If we can make it by hand, then we do,” Reichel said. “I think that makes it a superior product and there is nothing like it.” This includes sauces, dressings and even the pasta used for the lobster ravioli appetizer, one of several popular starters. Another favorite appetizer is the yellowfin tuna, with seared rare tuna and crab salad on a seasoned sticky rice cake.
Scarlet’s has a selection of soups – the French onion is a guest favorite – and salads, including the classic Caesar, arugula grape and the wedge, a steakhouse tradition.
Scarlet’s entrees are the stars of this fine-dining restaurant. There is filet mignon, the 14-ounce New York strip, the 16-ounce Delmonico; 22-ounce bone-in ribeye; and prime rib served with horseradish creme and herb au jus. Also served is the tomahawk for two, carved tableside, and a Japanese A5 Wagyu strip loin. The steaks are cooked to perfection as ordered and can be enhanced with toppings such as Oscar (lump crab, asparagus, hollandaise) or Reynor (crab, jumbo shrimp and beurre blanc sauce).
There is a variety of chef’s selections, including the bone-in pork chop with a bourbon-pecan glaze, lamb chops, chicken piccata, shrimp alla vodka with rigatoni and shaved prosciutto, blackened red fish, and the Thai lobster curry scallops in a velvety coconut curry sauce.
Along with Maine lobster, seafood selections include Alaskan king crab legs, New Zealand salmon and the fresh fish of the day. Scarlet’s also serves a number of side dishes, which can be shared by those at the table or as an indulgent serving for one.
Desserts, including the thick pecan pie and fresh fruit galette, are made at the in-house bakery, providing the perfect sweet bite to the end of the meal.
Scarlet’s Steaks & Seafood is open Wednesday through Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m., and Sundays for brunch, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling (888) PLAY-SPC or visiting opentable.com.
