While you can get fuel at the Washington Avenue Texaco, you won’t find a convenience store there. Instead, you may just stumble upon some of the best food in town.
If you’ve never been to Knuckleheads before, let us clue you in: the weekday specials are where it’s at. Starting off on Tuesdays, enjoy
$5 pitchers all day. Wednesdays are all-you-can-eat Royal Reds, and Thursdays are steak night. Owner Heath Allen is “The Steak Guy,” and you’ll be hard pressed to cook a better one. Seriously.
On any given day, you can try more than 60 craft beers at Knuckleheads, 20 of which are seasonally
available on tap. The wait staff are both fun and knowledgable, so feel free to crack a few jokes and
ask for their beer suggestions. They won’t tell you wrong!
Aside from their weekday specials, Knuckleheads is known for two things: their house-smoked chicken wings, which are served naked or tossed
in your choice of sauce, and their fresh ground burgers. The menu is both familiar and innovative, taking something ordinary and making it extraordinary. You ever had a burger with peach compote and blueberry-horseradish mayo? Neither had we.
During crawfish season, Knuckleheads offers some killer deals on crawfish platters and crawfish by the pound. And with the addition of their covered patio and bar, Village Idiots, outdoor dining just got a whole lot cooler.
