DINNER ON THE LOT

The offering that I participated in was a Cathead Vodka Dinner Pairing. We registered online and then ventured to the heart of Ocean Springs on the night of the event. It’s affectionately referred to as “Dinner on the Lot” because, well, that’s what it is. In the center of the picturesque town sits a grassy green lot that turns into a magical diner oasis, complete with bistro lighting and a picnic table. We didn’t know all of the diners that registered at first, but that quickly changed as we all experienced this adventure for our tastebuds together.
As Michael cooked, Stephanie told us about the pottery the dishes would be served on. Just a small taste of the heart and soul that goes into each experience. During each course, we were also presented with a Cathead Vodka pairing that was tailored to each dish on the menu. Each complimented its respective dish perfectly.
Dishes enjoyed included a variety of ingredients, such as beets, octopus, sardines, short ribs, and so much more. Everything was fresh, unique, and delicious. It was also pretty fun to not be presented with a menu and have to choose. There was only one choice that night: chef’s choice. And I was here for it.
And confession time, I’m not a huge seafood fan. I’ll eat it, but it’s not what my tastebuds normally gravitate to. But y’all, I tried every dish, and I loved so many of them. The menu also changes with each experience – no two dinners are the same so you can keep coming back.
I highly recommend the next time you see one of their offerings that you run, not walk, to secure a spot. You (and your tastebuds) won’t regret it.
