• Volunteer as a family! Find a nonprofit near you and see what help they need. Give back to your community. For example, if your kids love animals, taking them to walk dogs or play with cats at your local animal shelter is a great way to encourage their interests!
• Go to a museum! There’s plenty
of variety across the Coast. From Mardi Gras museums, to children’s museums, to art museums, there’s something to interest everyone in the family.
• Let your child choose a summer camp to go to! You can use our handy list located in this issue of our magazine to see the array of options along the Coast.
• Go to a festival! Take a look at
our calendar of events to see what exciting things are going on near you.
• Have a child interested in boats? Look into taking a ride to Ship Island or taking a historical cruise in the Bay depending on their interests!

• Find a concert, event, musical, or play to go to. Concerts and certain types of events will allow for pictures to help your child remember that
day forever. Bringing them to a musical will likely introduce them to some new favorite songs. Theatrical performances often hand out programs, which your child may be able to get signed by cast members. While a program is a physical item,
it will remind your child of the performance for many years to come.
• Book a staycation! You can find a hotel that fits in your price range – or stay at home! Take some days off, spend time with the family, and go out and do new, touristy things that you’ve never done before.
• Go to a sports game! With a local hockey team and baseball team, the sports lover in your life should be thrilled.
• It may seem obvious, but have a beach day! You don’t have to go to a spot near your home you see often – take a trip down the Coast and find a new, interesting spot!
