perfection alongside the buns in an old-fashioned hot dog machine. Red hot dogs not your thing? A chili or chili-cheese bun is a great way to get that hot dog feel without the hot dog. The Edd’s cheeseburger is a traditional option that boasts white onions, mustard, mayo, and cheese served inside a deliciously grilled bun. The popular mainstays at Edd’s are the chili cheese burger featuring Edd’s iconic, housemade chili, or the Edd’s Special, a double patty creation piled high with cheese, chili, and just the right amount of pickles.
Obviously, no drive-in experience would be complete without dessert. Handspun shakes and malts, banana splits topped with fresh fruit, and even a simple dip-cone are on full display. Edd’s signature ice cream serves as the backbone for a variety of frozen treats, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Still, perhaps just as important as the food is the way
in which it is “plated.” Edd’s signature brown tray serves as the perfect resting spot for a couple of burgers, an order of crinkle fries, a fountain drink, and, for anyone in the know, ketchup in a cup.
Having celebrated its platinum anniversary in February of this year, Edd’s easily cements itself as not only an adored Pascagoula hotspot, but a restaurant known locally, regionally, and nationally. President and operational manager Walker Foster, Sr. is proud of what his family has accomplished at Edd’s. At 95 years young, Foster is a constant staple at the drive-in, overseeing much of the daily operation. However, he is quick to say that the success of Edd’s has hinged upon
a combination of continual family support, a dedicated and hardworking staff, and a loyal and devoted customer base. It’s this trifecta of support and reinforcement driving Edd’s into the future, while providing an assiduous reminder of a past that has molded and shaped an iconic drive-in into a truly beloved coastal treasure.
