Right in the heart of Pass Christian
lies Tuckahoe Farms, the Coast’s rst y-in community. With amenities such as a professional ski lake, private runway, tennis courts and nature trails, Tuckahoe Farms is a dream come true for many South Mississippi residents.
“This community is unlike anything else on the Coast,” says Julie Morris, broker and owner of Ole Oaks Realty. “This amazing new community is close to shopping, I-10 access, The SeaBee Base and even horseback riding and golf courses.”
Developer Jay Knowles remembers visiting Keesler Air Force Base as a child, looking at the planes and talking with
the pilots. “I knew someday, somehow
I wanted to be a pilot,” Knowles said. “Although time passed and my interests shifted to horses and water skiing, ying was always in the back of my mind. As
I traveled and met people, I found there were a lot of people with the same dream I had – to live on a private ski lake with an airstrip. Unfortunately, there were
no places in our area that o ered these
amenities.”
With that dream in mind, Knowles set
out to make his vision a reality. “It took 25 years of searching and hundreds of site visits before I nally found what is now Tuckahoe Farms Subdivision,” said Knowles. “Tuckahoe Farms was actually a family farm for over 50 years before it was sold to developers and then to my wife, Liz, and I. We named it after our champion show jumper, Tuckahoe, or ‘Tucker.’ As I drove around the property before I purchased it, I knew this was the perfect place. It was close to everything with absolutely beautiful rolling hills and large 100-year-old oaks.”
The 365-acre development is well underway with 52 acres currently being utilized. The land has been divided into 53 half acre lots, 27 of them located on the 3,500-foot lighted runway and the remaining 26 around Lake Elizabeth, the world record capable tournament ski lake.
“We are located close to a great school district, casinos, shopping and dining,
and only 45 minutes from downtown New Orleans,” says Knowles. “Located in
Harrison County, there are no city taxes and water, sewer, natural gas and electric utilities are all available.”
Tuckahoe Farms has a Home Owners Association (HOA) and covenants in place to ensure the success and cohesive look
of the development. Homes must be a minimum of 2,400 square feet, and while there are no style restrictions, plans must be approved by the HOA.
“If you’re looking for a place in the country with city amenities that’s close to everything, and a place to raise your family, come see it for yourself,” says Liz Knowles. “You’re sure to fall in love with Tuckahoe Farms.”
