happy to fill us in on some history. The original owner, Ms. Jonnie O’Keefe, sold The Project to Martha O’Keefe in 1996. Martha’s son, Steven Peterson, now carries on that tradition. Since the takeover, they have tried to sail a steady ship, consistently putting out amazing food for the masses.
The Tuna Steak was absolutely heavenly; a level of sophisticated gastronomy one wouldn’t necessarily expect from a late night bar. Sitting on a bed of fresh lettuce, baby tomatoes, cheese and raw onion and topped with an Asian vinaigrette, the steak itself was something out
of a dream. Bold flavors abound with each bite, and the steak itself draws you in with the rich texture, a perfect balance of flaky goodness without being dried out. A crisp crust pulls into a buttery center of herbs and spices.
The Project Lounge and the burger itself have been nominated for multiple Covey awards
as well as other accolades. Consider this your official introduction, from one local to another. And, as always, tip your bartender.
