White Coats & Wine will
benefit St. Vincent de Paul

An inaugural event, White Coats & Wine, will be held April 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. poolside at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino benefitting the St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy. Kathy Springer of Merit Health Biloxi is the chairman.
“Our prescription output has increased between 10 to 15 percent annually for the past six years. In 2011, we filled 11,400 prescriptions. In 2016, we filled 26,850 prescriptions valued at $1.2 million,” says Sam Burke, the organization’s executive director. “Without these prescriptions, many of our clients would end up in an emergency room or physician’s office. Few have the ability to pay.”
White Coats & Wine will feature fine wines from more than 30 vendors, heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music by award winning Jazz pianist Matt Lemmlier, and a silent auction with themed packages that include staycations, sports, food, art, kids, and vacations.
There will also be a wine pull which will allow anyone who purchases a $10 chance to reach into the wine bin and bring out a bottle to take home.

SCARLET PEARL OPENS
PARKING GARAGE

When Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort opened in December 2015, guests enjoyed visiting the D’Iberville casino, but asked for just one thing: easier access to the casino. That request has been granted with a parking garage set to open in mid-April.
Located behind the resort, the seven-floor parking garage has nearly 1,025 spaces and will offer a convenient, secure way for guests to enter the resort through a connector to the hotel lobby for direct access onto the casino floor.
“It’s a testament to our owners that we’re able to listen to what our guests want and provide that for them,” said Roy Sous, vice president of marketing.
A ribbon cutting will mark the opening of the garage, and the casino has several promotions in April to help celebrate the event, including a new car giveaway and chances for players to win gas cards and car wash prize packages.
Following the opening of the garage, a retail shop and coffee and ice cream shop will open between the garage and hotel lobby. A competition is being held on the resort’s Facebook page to name the two shops, with winners receiving passes to the Waterfront Buffet and Lava Links Miniature Golf Club.
